How have certain animals evolved and changed over the passage of time?
Continuing in my research of animals, I wanted to look more specifically into their evolution over time. I find it interesting how much some of these animals have changed through time, some looking nothing like their past ancestors. In my research I found that most species have either changed due to domestication over centuries as well as in changes within genes and DNA, where some genes may be deleted or duplicated as they get passed down from generation to generation.

As horses have evolved over millions of years so have their hooves, changing from having multiple side toes to only one large hove.

Some that have occurred within species may not be as drastic as others, for example it could be a result of fast changing environments around them because of problems such as climate change.

For example, the tawny owl has gone from being both brown and grey in color to now there has been a large increase in only brown coloured owls. This is because as temperatures keep increasing their is less snow in during winter, which is resulting in arise in a rise of brown coloured owls which can better blend into their environment.
As I continue my research I plan to explore more within the specific changes seen within the species as they evolved over time. Not only do I plan to research the changes in their appearances but also changes in behaviors.
